Who is responsible for the LEI system globally?

The Global Legal Entity Identifier Foundation (GLEIF), a supra-national non-profit organization headquartered in Switzerland, is tasked with the operational management of the system. While GLEIF oversees the integrity of the data and the network of issuers, the system as a whole is regulated by the Regulatory Oversight Committee (ROC), a group representing public authorities from around the world.
